Opportunity to learn by example from the 2005 Charrette participants – Holland Twp/City,  Muskegon Hts/Norton Shores  and Grand Rapids/Walker and to first hear of the 2007 WMRUD Charrettes RFP and get tips on submitting a winning proposal.

February 2, 2007 –  Announce the 3 Multi-Jurisdictional Team Awards

February 16, 2007 –  WMRUD Charrette Award ceremony and kickoff

March 2, 2007 – Jurisdictional & Design Team Leaders visit sites

March 23, 2007 – Design Professional Recruits Kickoff

April 12-14, 2007 – WMRUD Charrette  2007

7:30 – 8:00 Sign-in, set-up, continental breakfast.

8:10 – 9:10   PINNACLE THEATER – THE WMRUD CHARRETTE INTRODUCTION

9:15: - 12:00/12:15 - Team Bus tour of the 3 charrette sites

12:00 – 1:15 - lunch @ Pinnacle Center – (12:30 –  1:00 - What we saw on the bus) Each team leader take 10 minutes to share – show photos). Charrette instructions to teams

1:30 – 6:00 - Separate Team for charrette: establish area goals, facts, and hidden assets and discuss needs and problem (program definition).

6:00 – 6:30  Team Dinner (Location @ the Pinnacle Center)

7:00 – 8:30  Community Storytelling – Communities invited and each team shares observations and obtains deeper understanding from these additional participants. (A REVIEW, CRITIQUE, REFINE CYCLE) 


 


 

April 13  Friday  CREATING  Design Workshop

8 a.m. - 8:45: 2nd day speakers

8:45 - 5 p.m.: Three Teams (set up for 3 breakout sessions): Following Speakers – agree upon Thursdays programming input, engage in area analysis & uncovering concepts.

8am – 8:30 continental breakfast with optional Speaker

12: 00 – 1:00 - Community Storytelling (A REVIEW, CRITIQUE, REFINE CYCLE)

1:00 – 6:00. REFINE design ideas – Pizzas ordered – work until 10:00 pm


 

 


 

April 14  Saturday  PRODUCING  Charrette Production & Assembly

8 – Noon: Production of charrette process in PowerPoint format.
