The AIA represents the interests of architects before federal, state, and local governments and other policy-making bodies and organizations. This outreach, coupled with sustained member participation and active involvement in the political process, enables the AIA to advocate on legislative, regulatory, and related issues of importance to AIA members.
Sustainable Design Policy Resource Center
- The AIA seeks to dramatically increase the number of high-performance buildings constructed in the coming decades. A number of steps have been taken at the federal, state, and local level to increase awareness of and adherence to high-performance design principles and standards however much more can be done. Thus the AIA has created the Sustainable Design Policy Resource Center to provide information on sustainable design to members, decision-makers, and the public and to offer strategies to encourage the construction of high-performance structures.
